Frank J. Manna
Few words can be said about great musicians with out the
mention of the name Frank Manna. By far, one of the
greatest, most brilliant musical minds on this planet. Mr.
Manna created many of today's most exuberant, breath-taking
works. His unmeasurable creativity and his ingenious concept
of "musical mechanics" helped him climb the ladder to
greatness, fame, fortune, and power. Throughout his life,
this wonderful man touched the hearts of many. This paper
was manufactured so that you, the reader, may also be
touched as were the people back in the Manna Era.
Frank, born in the year 1809, was given life in a small
log cabin in the town of Hodgenville, Kentucky. it was here
that Frank received his education and began his musical
career. It all began one day, in the year 1816, when Frank
was hard at work in his father's cherry orchard. While berry
picking, a bolt of lightning crashed from the sky and
exploded into the side of one of his father's trees, severing
it into several pieces. Using the family knife and
parts of this God-sent creature, Frank whittled himself his
first trumpet. By tuning this masterpiece with his naturally
acquired musical ear, Frank unlocked the door to stardom and
created his first tune "The William Tell Overture". By selling
this great work to a man named Gioacchino Rossini. The Manna
family was able to purchase their first plow. This plow
enabled the struggling Manna family to earn enough money
to send Frank to Oxford University to touch up on his musical
skills. In a matter of months, the then 16 year old young
man was handed over the Oxford College of Music where
began a teaching career. Turning out such lesser greats as
Gershwin, Webern, and Tchaikovski, the Manna name grew and
grew. At the age of 62, Frank Manna left Oxford and moved
back to the US in pursuit of a more personal career. He made
his living composing many, many wonderful pieces and selling
these uncopywritten materials to conductors. Works such as
"Rhapsody in Blue", "Bolero", and "Concerto in F" to name a few
